The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Your Season 2 Predictions — With Some Positive Updates

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been widespread.

The first season presents a diverse group of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other with musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator stated recently. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how fast season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a few fans make a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
